What to do when pulled over by police

I recently received a business card from The Ethics Project that listed the do's and don'ts if you get stopped by the police while drive.

The advice on the cards seems straight up and valuable.

Should you be stopped by a police officer while driving, here is how you should react:

1. Pull over to a safe place
2. Turn on dome light if at night
3. Keep hands on steering wheel
4. Wait for officer to approach
5. Remain calm, honest and respectful at all times
6. Wait for instructions
7. Note officer's name and badge number
8. Report any misconduct to Police Internal Affairs (St. Louis City, 314.444.5404)
